About the proxy address
The local proxy listens on loopback only, and one port speaks both HTTP and SOCKS5.
- The preferred port is 7898; if it is busy, the next free port is used automatically.
- It listens only on
127.0.0.1, so other devices on your LAN cannot reach it. To use it from Docker, WSL or VMs, see WSL and VMs. - The same port supports:
- HTTP proxy:
http://127.0.0.1:7898 - SOCKS5 proxy:
socks5://127.0.0.1:7898
- HTTP proxy:
- Only targets on the resource list go through edge nodes; addresses outside the list reached through the proxy go direct over your current network. That makes it safe to point your whole terminal at the proxy.
Getting the current address:
- Desktop client: click copy next to "Proxy address" on the home screen.
- Linux:
cnb statusorcnb env.
