VS Code / Cursor / JetBrains
Proxy settings for editors, extension marketplaces and AI plugins.
In PAC mode, VS Code and Cursor usually pick up the system proxy automatically. If extension installs or AI plugins are still slow, set it explicitly.

settings.json:

"http.proxy": "http://127.0.0.1:7898",
"http.proxySupport": "override"
}Extensions such as GitHub Copilot, Cline and Continue use the editor's proxy settings.
Remote - SSH / Dev Containers
In remote development, extensions run on the remote machine and do not use your local proxy. You can:
- install CoderBoost (Linux version) on the remote machine as well; or
- use SSH reverse port forwarding to offer your local proxy to the remote machine:
ssh -R 7898:127.0.0.1:7898 user@remote-host
# on the remote machine
export https_proxy=http://127.0.0.1:7898JetBrains (IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, GoLand…)
Settings → Appearance & Behavior → System Settings → HTTP Proxy:
- choose Auto-detect proxy settings (recommended in PAC mode), or
- Manual proxy configuration: HTTP, host
127.0.0.1, port7898.
