The 2026 landscape of AI coding tools
Editors, terminal agents, completion plugins, app generators… We grouped 24 popular AI coding tools by type and noted the route each one takes in CoderBoost.
Read article →On the same network, some people never have trouble and others hit it constantly. IP type, how many people share an IP and exit stability are three factors that are often overlooked.
1. IP type
Some AI platforms are more cautious with data-center (IDC) IPs and trust home-broadband IPs more. It isn't an absolute rule, but it shows clearly on tools with strict risk controls.
2. How many people share it
On public lines, hundreds or thousands of people may use one exit IP at the same time. To a platform, many accounts behind one IP is a risk signal.
3. Exits that keep changing
One exit today, another tomorrow, a third the day after: to the platform, your account is "running around the world". That looks more suspicious than an IP that is imperfect but stable.
Because it's too slow. Connecting straight to a distant residential IP often makes interactive terminal work unbearable, and residential lines generally have mediocre upstream quality.
